Big sound from a small body, but the proposition is made less attractive by a premium price

There's a lot to like about the design of the SoundLink Mini II. Most of its body is made from an assortment of metals. The seamless enclosure is forged from anodized aluminium, while steel has been used for the perforated speaker grilles.

Excellent build quality; Voluminous sound fit for a mid-sized room; Voice guided Bluetooth pairing; Long lasting battery life

Sound quality is limited by its size; Dangerous price point with rivalling models offering expanded functionality at a lower price

A small box wth a large "voice!"

Had a few surprises when trying to charge the unit the first time; connecting it with a USB cable yielded the usual charging comment and it took 2 days before the battery reached 100%. Once charged it kept that charge without interruption.

Easy To Transport; Great Interface; Great Sound; Stylish

Slow Charge

It's good.

Another person posted that it "Wish the charger connected to the speaker rather than just 'sits' in it. No big deal though"... Dude just take the plug out of the base and stick it into the side of the device itself.... cmon meow... Overall, it's worth the money I think.

-Sound quality (a little too much bass on the default equalizer but it's good); Ease of use; Charges fairly quickly

-Battery doesn't last as long as I wish (It lasts about 1.5 hours on a full charge at full volume) -Heavy (This is not big for most people but I carry it in my bag and it's got some serious weight to it

Great sound!

Great sound quality for a portable speaker! Way better than the Jawbone we had before. A little pricey, but with the Target Redcard discount, this was the cheapest place I found.

Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II (Carbon)

Introduction – The first Soundlink Mini was quite an important product in the portable Bluetooth speaker landscape, it was one of the first speakers to use two opposing passive radiators and also one of the first to produce a proper bass response.

Premium design; Smart electronics; Bass extension and slam; Treble is quite good for a portable speaker; Max volume output

Heavy; Midrange is a bit thin; Not waterproof and doesn`t support AptX

Bose SoundLink Mini II

The SoundLink Mini II is a compact and lightweight speaker (it's only about 15 square inches and weighs one pound) with powerful sound output. It is simple to use, with extremely intuitive controls that allow you to change the music directly from the speaker.

Very intuitive and easy-to-use controls; Can play; pause and change the volume and track using on-speaker buttons; Speaks the name of the device it connects to; Automatically switches to AUX mode when a device is connect via cable; Can pair with two devices at same time and quickly switch between...

Poor battery life when tested at maximum volume

Bose SoundLink Mini II Review

It's been a couple of years since Bose released the SoundLink Mini ( at Amazon) , a portable Bluetooth speaker that seriously impressed us with its smart design, features, and big sound. The updated SoundLink Mini II is priced the same ($199.95), and looks quite similar in terms of size and design layout. New features include improved battery life and speakerphone functionality, but the main attraction remains an uncanny ability to produce convincing bass from its tiny frame. It may not sound like a subwoofer is involved, but this speaker can muster enough low end that, at times, you'll ponder its size in minor disbelief. Portable Bluetooth speakers have a long way to go before audiophiles and purists hop onboard, but for those looking for a powerful, clean audio experience from a tiny speaker, the SoundLink Mini II earns our Editors' Choice award. DesignThe SoundLink Mini II ($170.00 at Amazon)  replaces the SoundLink Mini. Like the original, the speaker is easily portable in ter...

The tiny Bose SoundLink Mini II delivers the richest bass you'll find in a portable Bluetooth speaker this size, while managing to stay balanced with crisp highs.

Powerful audio performance with surprising bass response for its size; Well designed; Built-in speakerphone; Can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously

Digital signal processing changes bass response at different volume levels; Deceptively heavy; Aux audio cable isn't included

Repeat purchase.

Yep! Bose has a better quality sound than any of the competitive brands near the price range and I think this speaker has a better bass and a more balanced sound than even the newer Bose cylindrical speakers.

Battery performance will decline over time

Says it will last 10 hours. Over time it will steadily decline to where it won't last for 1 hour. I enjoy listening to music on my deck for 2 to 4 hours and it got to the point where it would go dead in less than an hour. This was over a time span of a year.
