Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 isn't much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it's still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

Apple has given select media outlets and YouTubers access to the new iPhone 14 ahead of when it begins arriving in customers' hands on Friday, September 16. There are two models of the ‌iPhone‌ 14, the standard 6.1-inch ‌iPhone‌ 14 and the larger 6.7-inch ‌iPhone‌ 14 Plus.

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

Sony a9 II tempts sports photographers with the world's best autofocus.

Fabulous autofocus, high firing rate, very good quality from 14-bit raw files.

Expensive and specialized camera, some buttons are small and there is a gap between the handle and the lens.

Sony a9 II review

The Sony Alpha 9 Mark II comes with the best autofocus system we've seen. It's compact yet has a good-sized grip, produces great Raw and JPEG files, offers excellent battery life and solid video capture. That said, we do think its video capabilities and rear screen could be updated, and of course, this is a sports camera, so those looking for maximum resolution or dynamic range are barking up the wrong tree. But the a9 II meets and, in some cases, exceeds the capabilities of its peers and makes for a truly compelling value for sports and action photographers.

Sports, action and event photography specialists, run-and-gun video shooters that need solid out-of-camera footage and generalist photographers that want the best autofocus performance they can find.;

Landscape and studio purists that may need more resolution or dynamic range, high-end video shooters that need more flexible files in post-production;

Sony Alpha A9 II Black - Brand New review

Sony has taken a sizable leap forward in some regards, but just a small leap forward in others. If the A9 II is right for you, it will be because you want Sony's lenses, autofocus technology, and specifically, the improved ergonomics and customizability that this generation offers.

Best autofocus performance of any mirrorless camera, Best autofocus point control interface of any mirrorless system, Flagship grade build quality, Competitive shooting speed against both DSLRs and other new mirrorless competition, Ergonomic improvements and customization improvements

Less of a "leap forward" from the A9 than the A9 was originally ground-breaking, Menus still crowded with more options than any other camera, Menu organization still confusing, "My Menu" a must, 24 megapixels not enough for certain types of photography
