Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

The iPhone 14 comes to market with the same launch price as the previous generation. At the same time, iPhone connoisseurs were more than disillusioned after the presentation of the new smartphone. Apple leaves large parts of the hardware unchanged and does not dare to change the design.

Top performance level despite last year's chip, Very high quality workmanship, Improved image and video quality, Excellent battery life

Hardly any innovations, Charging takes too long for 2022

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

Good news is that the Galaxy S22 Plus price is the same as last year at $1,000 for the base 8G/128GB model, while $50 on top of that gets you an 8G/256GB model and that seems like the optimal configuration.

Superb display, Beautiful design, Adequate battery life, Good hapitcs and audio quality, Okay performrance

Oversharpened photos, Noisy low-light image quality, Not very ergonomic, Marginal improvements over Galaxy S21 Plus, Gets hot during gaming and heavier load

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

The S22+ offers a slim and well-built design, with a stunning display, feature-packed software and improved cameras, but there are flaws in the battery and camera software that should have been addressed before this phone made it to market.

Long-term update support, Tough but elegant design, Superb display

Cameras need tweaking, Middling battery life, A little pricey

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

Aside from a bigger battery and a larger screen, is there anything else that separates the Galaxy S22 Plus from the regular model?

Bigger screen than the S21, Bigger battery than the S21, Excellent cameras

No microSD slot, Battery life downgrade, S22 Ultra’s features are worth the extra £200

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

Samsung's Galaxy S22 Plus is sandwiched between the smaller S22 and bigger S22 Ultra models – it delivers the best battery life of the lot, and is a more sensible flat-screen option compared to the Ultra, which will make it the best pick of the series for some.

Sophisticated design – if you like a flat screen, Smooth software experience from Android, The best battery life of any S22 model

It's pricey!, No microSD card slot, S22 Ultra adds various upgrades

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Plus (256GB, Green) AU - Pristine review

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is a safe but welcome update to the middle of the family. This model may suit a great number of users - especially those who now don't feel drawn to the S Pen-wielding Ultra.

Great display, Smooth software and flagship performance, Neat overall design, Solid all-round performer

Iterative updates means it isn't very exciting
